Abstract: The management of revenues from exhaustible natural resources involves a number of challenges. In order to rethink this issue among resource-rich and commodity-dependent countries, a developmental perspective is adopted, suggesting an alternative resource revenue management model based on gradual scale-up of investments in productivity-enhancing assets, which would enable the alignment of both short-term stabilization and long-term diversification.

These ideas will be explored in the webinar and are detailed in the paper coauthored with Professor Ha-Joon Chang (University of Cambridge).
