*Pavlina R. Tcherneva is Associate Professor at Bard College. She specializes in Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) and public policy. She also worked with Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. Tcherneva’s most recent book, The Case for a Job Guarantee (Polity, 2020), is a timely guide to the benefits of one of the most innovative public policies being discussed today.
